The Challanges

CollectorsCage is a company that specializes in selling vintage bags and operates a physical store on Strøget in Copenhagen. CollectorsCage needed to modernize their webshop. They had ambitions to strengthen their digital presence and increase their online sales. Their previous webshop presented several challenges:

 

  • Limited visibility: Despite a unique assortment, their online traffic was low
  • Low conversion rate: Only 0.9% of their visitors became customers
  • Outdated design: Their webshop lacked the exclusive feel
  • Slow performance: The webshop was slow, with an average load time of 6 seconds
  • Lack of focus on mobile optimization: The majority of their traffic came from mobile

The Solutions

To meet CollectorsCage’s needs, we developed a comprehensive plan that combined technical improvements, design optimization, and strategic conversion rate optimization (CRO). Our goal was to create a digital platform that would complement their physical store and highlight the unique value of the brand.

We started with an in-depth analysis of their previous webshop and customer behavior. Based on this analysis, we developed a webshop with a new, exclusive design that reflected CollectorsCage’s brand. We used a minimalist style with a focus on beautiful product images and intuitive navigation. To connect the physical and digital experience, we implemented a feature where customers could reserve products online and pick them up in store.

Performance was a key focus area. We reduced load times to under 2 seconds by optimizing images and code, and implementing a Content Delivery Network (CDN). This ensured that the shop delivered a fast and seamless experience for all users, regardless of device.

After implementing the new webshop, CollectorsCage saw significant improvements in their digital performance:

 

  • Conversion rate: Increased from 0.9% to 3.2%, an increase of 256%.
  • Load time: Reduced from 6 seconds to 1.8 seconds.
  • Mobile conversion: Increased by 310%, resulting from making the mobile experience their primary sales platform.
  • Average order value (AOV): Increased by 24% through personalized product recommendations and campaigns.
